RAICo welcomes industry to our first Suppliers' Event on 5th July 2023 at the National Conference Centre in Birmingham

The Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Collaboration (RAICo®) is a collaboration among the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA), Sellafield Ltd (SL)UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) and University of Manchester.

RAICo is an end user-led collaboration that brings together teams from fission decommissioning and fusion engineering. The programme is focussed on developing robotics and artificial intelligence technologies that are required for the deployment of remotely operated solutions for decommissioning and future fusion powerplants.

Using robotics and AI in hazardous nuclear decommissioning environments will provide the step-change in capabilities needed to move towards a faster, more cost-efficient, and less hazardous set of next generation decommissioning activities.

We are in year two of an initial three-year programme of technology development. This event will provide industry with information about the opportunities arising from the RAICo programme and allow attendees to engage with RAICo personnel.

The programme is managed by UKAEA’s Remote Applications in Challenging Environments (RACE) division.
