We have market-leading international nuclear expertise that understands your business.
We are experienced in international nuclear power and uranium mine transactions, with a special focus on mergers and acquisitions, project financing and project development, particularly in the UK and emerging markets. We provide a full range of legal services, supporting all aspects of the nuclear value chain across new build, operations and decommissioning. Our clients include governments, SOEs and international nuclear companies around the world.
Our team has a long-established track record in the nuclear sector.
From advising the BNFL group in the late 1990s to advising on licensing in the US and through to current new build, decommissioning and waste management mandates, we have a long and deep history in multiple jurisdictions across the whole nuclear cycle.
Our team understands the regulated environment, be it nuclear liability, nuclear regulation or more traditional regulation concerned with, for example, major new construction projects, regulated or best practice procurement models or asbestos removal in a radiation-controlled environment.
We have practitioners who are familiar with the jurisdictions where new build or decommissioning is a live or soon to be live issue. For example, we have advised on the regulation of the Jordanian Atomic Energy Commission’s nuclear new build programme; on the decommissioning of the Kozloduy nuclear plant; and contractors on an EBRD-funded project to carry out work at Chernobyl. We also have experience with new build programmes across the world, including in South Africa, the Czech Republic, China, Argentina, the UAE and the US.
